Christine Hierlmaier Nelson is an author, speaker and communications consultant for professionals and parents. Of all the child care tips and advice out there, she believes that teaching young children patience is the single biggest thing you can do to affect their success in school, their sense of responsibility and outlook on life. Before we can teach it, we have to live it.
Christine has been featured in national publications including Parents, Redbook and Woman’s World. She has served as editor-in-chief of a Minnesota women's magazine, columnist for various parenting sites and ghostwriter and contributor for professionals around the U.S. since 1994.
Christine's children’s book, “Green Yellow Go! Nat Knows Bananas” was the spark for developing concrete tips for modeling and teaching the critical skill of patience — with empathy, conscious choice and leadership. A story Christine once told her daughter about a little girl who must wait for her bananas to turn from green to yellow, “Green Yellow Go! Nat Knows Bananas” has become a treasured bedtime book.
For the last 10 years, Christine has developed strategic marketing and media skills by serving professionals throughout the U.S. on behalf of Ingenuity Marketing Group in St. Paul, Minn. She serves as a senior communications/marketing consultant, supporting clients as well as the leadership team at Ingenuity. Her writing and consulting have supported award-winning client campaigns. One of her current clients is a global trade association.
Christine lives with her two daughters, husband, two dogs and two cats in Minnesota. She loves poetry, gardening, travel, singing and God. She is currently council president of Zion Lutheran Church, ELCA, which celebrates its 125th anniversary in 2018. She also teaches a 24-member color guard for her town's high school marching band.
Over 20 years of combined writing & communications consulting experience...and fun!
